Debra Jo Kinsella

County Extension Director

Debra Jo Kinsella has been Unit Leader in Grundy County since 1994. In her role as Unit Leader, she provides leadership to the county unit by providing guidance, support, and direction to the Extension Advisory Council, fiscal and educational program management, and staff development. She works with the Unit Council and committees to complete local needs assessments, and then to develop, implement, and evaluate educational programs in the areas of youth development, family and consumer sciences, community and economic development, agriculture and natural resources, and nutrition and wellness. She works with staff, Extension Educators, University Specialists, Extension Administration and local program partners to deliver quality educational programming and ensure that the needs of the local people are addressed. Resource development/fund raising, marketing/public relations, and networking and creating partnerships with local professionals for the betterment of children, families, schools, the agricultural sector and communities in Grundy County are also her core responsibilities. Debra writes and manages grants including one for the Family Nutrition Program as well as special grant programs for youth summer camps.

Debra Jo holds a Master in Business Administration with an emphasis in Marketing. She has 23 years of experience in business and administration. She has worked in both the public and private sectors.
