Building Communities

We were involved in the re-organization of the Greene County Economic Development Group, Inc. The group has their own website; sponsored the BG campaign and introduced an on-line directory of Greene County businesses; and worked on the Mapping Your Future program to gather information from local citizens on community and economic development. We hope to co-sponsor activities with this group in the future to improve the business climate of Greene County.

We continued to meet with the Carrollton Chamber of Commerce to support their activities.

The Public Officials Tele-Institutes provided training for City Aldermen, County Board Members, and future elected officials on a variety of topics to help them better serve local citizens.

We couldn't do what we do without the dedicated volunteers who give their time and talents to the program. A total of 222 citizens, including 63 youth, served in various volunteer positions in 2006-2007. These positions included Council members, 4-H Club Leaders, fair superintendents, committee members, auctioneers, auction clerks, workshop instructors, and others. They are recognized throughout the year in a variety of ways.
