The Greene County 4-H and Extension Foundation was created to provide funds to promote the Extension and 4-H programs to the citizens of Greene County. It was officially incorporated in Illinois as a not-for-profit corporation on February 28, 1994.

The Foundation has had many fund raisers over the years including pork cookouts, dinners, an annual membership drives, Kroger Gift Cards, and Alfonso's Pizza Certificates, and others.

The annual membership drive has been successful. Many individuals, businesses, and organizations have joined the foundation during the campaign. Some have had memberships for 15 consecutive years. They include Alfonso's Pizza, Greene County Shopper, Carrollton Farmers Elevator Company, Carrollton IGA, Rick Keim, and the Greene County Extension Education Building Association.

Memberships are accepted throughout the year. There are four levels of membership including: Greene Cloverleaf - $10 to $24; Silver Cloverleaf - $25 to $49; Gold Cloverleaf - $50 to $99; and Diamond Cloverleaf - $100 and up. Members receive a certificate and are listed in a thank you ad in the Greene County Shopper and the foundation's brochure. To join, send your name, address, telephone number and check made payable to Greene County 4-H and Extension Foundation to the foundation at RR 3, Box 129C, Carrollton 62016.

Almost all funds raised by the Foundation are given to Greene County Extension and matched with state funds.

Estate gifts can be an everlasting way to support the Greene County 4-H and Extension Foundation's purpose of providing educational activities to local citizens.

Planning an estate gift can be as simple as using the following language on IRA, insurance policy, or other beneficiary designation forms or providing this language to your attorney for inclusion in your will or living trust:

"I leave (example: ____ % of my estate, ____ dollars, the residue of estate) to the Greene County 4-H and Extension Foundation, a not-for-profit corporation located in Carrollton, Illinois, to support Greene County 4-H and Extension programs."
