Existing Growing Conditions

Now we need to find the right plant for the right spot . The main inhabitants of your chosen garden site will be perennials - will they grow there? Is the spot sunny or shady, wet or dry, clay or loam? You need to assess the growing conditions. You will be selecting plant material for your garden - if you plant them in an inappropriate environment, disappointment and failure will surely follow. Remember, two of the three reasons given for failure were wrong plants and lack of previous success. You can increase your chances of success by 66 percent by properly assessing the growing conditions and selecting appropriate perennials.
