Production of methamphetamine (meth) is on the rise in central Illinois and even in our own communities. As the manufacturing of this drug increases so do the waste products. This waste is very toxic and is being dumped along roadsides, in parks, fields and on playgrounds.
This program helps youth to recognize regular trash and meth waste. They will also learn what to do if they encounter meth waste. Area High School youth who have completed a training, Extension Staff and Law Enforcement officials usually conduct this program. Much of the material was made possible through a grant from Attorney General, Lisa Madigan.
Due to the sensitive nature of the material this program is best for grades 6-12.
