Dana Homann

Extension Educator, Youth Development

Specializing in 4-H Youth Development, Dana works with U of I Extension staff in east central Illinois to provide educational experiences for youth in a variety of settings. She serves 12 counties in east central Illinois including: Clark, Clay, Coles, Crawford, Cumberland, Edgar, Fayette, Effingham, Jasper, Lawrence, Richland and Shelby.

Dana works with 4-H clubs, members, leaders, as well as area schools, and U of I Extension staff to promote life skills development for the youth of east central Illinois. Her primary responsibility is to deliver 4-H Youth Development educational programs designed to meet the needs of youth, volunteers and organizations serving youth.

Homann holds a B.S. degree in child development with a minor in social work from Western Illinois University and a masters degree in guidance and counseling from Eastern Illinois University. Dana began her career with Extension in October, 2000.

Dana's professional affiliations include the Illinois Extension Professionals for Youth Education and the National Association of Extension 4-H Agents. She is actively involved with Extension committees that address youth issues
