Rosie Gibbons is the County Extension Director for University of Illinois Extension in Effingham County. She provides leadership to the implementation of many programs coordinated by Extension, including agriculture, youth and family, nutrition, horticulture, and community and economic development. As a County Extension Director, she markets the Extension programs, networks with community resources, and is responsible for fiscal and facility management.
She received her Master of Science Degree in Home Economics from the Eastern Illinois University and is a Registered Dietitian. Community involvement includes serving as the Youth Exchange Officer for the Effingham Noon Rotary Club; being an active member of the Vision 2020 committee of Effingham County; Effingham County's Illinois Century Network Provider's Board: and a member of St. John Lutheran Church.
Gibbons' professional affiliations include Epsilon Sigma Phi; the American Dietetic Association; and the National Extension Association for Family and Consumer Sciences and is currently the past-president of the association.
