DUTY. I make a great homemade hand cleaner that also works to clean the leaves of dusty plants. Mix a cup of water, a teaspoon of soap and a teaspoon of olive oil into a spray bottle. Use it to clean your hands and keep those plant leaves dust-free.
SOAP SOLUTIONS. I purchased one of those expensive foaming hand soap products for my guest bathroom. When it ran out, I added a small amount of hand soap to the container (less than 1/4 full) and filled the rest with water. I shook it to mix the soap and water and pushed the hand pump. It made lots of foaming soap! Now, I can use that same container over and over.
SACHET SUBSTITUTION. For those who like a fresh scent in the dresser, tear out fragrance samples that come in the mail or in magazines and put them into your bureau drawers for a subtle, if temporary, fragrance.
SAVVY SWAPPING. Have a swap-shopping party with a bunch of friends. Clean out your closets and pull items that you no longer wear. Use everything from clothes and shoes to purses and jewelry. Then have a fun afternoon together swapping and sharing. It fulfills your shopping bug for free, and you can donate all of the leftover items to a local women's shelter or other worthwhile ministry.
FACE-CLOTH STRETCH. I use brand name hydrating facial cloths to wash my face at night. The cloths come 30 to a package. They are pre-folded, and they are huge. I cut them into four squares per cloth. This way, I get 120 washes versus 30. One box can last me about four months.
