Homeowners, landscape professionals and municipalities throughout DuPage County rely on Extension as their source for unbiased research-based horticulture information. The Horticulture staff and Master Gardeners help people make informed decisions about plant selection and disease and insect problems to enhance the value of their homes and protect the environment.
The Master Gardener program in DuPage County teaches and supports volunteer Master Gardeners to provide educational information to our residents. This is accomplished through a Gardening Help Line, Educational displays and Help Desks at community events, speaking engagements, and demonstration gardens. Thousands of questions are answered annually.
Many horticulture fact sheets are available on a wide variety of topics.
Landscapers, park districts and others rely on Extension for staff training, pesticide safety information and look to Extension for the most current and safe methods and practices to manage their grounds.
Horticulture programs are available to appeal to the increasingly diverse DuPage County populace. From hands-on youth gardening workshops to horticulture therapy for gardeners with special needs, DuPage Extension improves people's lives.
