This program is designed to give youth the opportunity to hatch chicks in their own classroom. Students will learn to prepare the eggs and set up the incubator. During the 21-day incubation time, children will keep daily records of progress, turn the eggs, and test eggs for fertility.
Instructional Materials
Teacher training will be held on Thursday, March 6, 2003 from 4:30-7:30 p.m. This training is required for new participants and helpful for those who feel a need to repeat for better information. More details will follow your pre-registration, which is due by February 19, 2003. Fertile egg orders for teachers who have completed the training will be taken until April 1. Egg pick up is scheduled for Tuesday, April 8, 2003 from 3-6 p.m. at the Extension Office.
