    Spring will soon be here and it will be time to, “Step into the Spring Gardening Season.” Before you throw out the gardening catalogues and begin digging, take advantage of the fantastic learning opportunities offered by the University of Illinois Extension at the 4th Annual “Step Up Into Spring Gardening” workshop series taking place on April 26, May 10, and May 17, 2008. The workshops will be held at Friendship Park Conservatory, 395 W. Algonquin Road, Des Plaines, IL. Horticulture Educators from the University of Illinois Extension as well as Extension Master Gardeners from North Suburban Cook County will present a “Spring Gardening Extravaganza” that will certainly put a spring into your step as you prepare to start your gardening season. Bring your plant and insect samples or your gardening questions. Master Gardeners will be available at the Digital Diagnostics booth to help identify diseased plants, insect problems and answer pressing gardening questions. Learn the latest trends in residential landscaping, selecting low maintenance shrubs, garden design with native plants, selecting ornamental trees for your landscape at these fantastic workshops. Let Extension Educators help you put your knowledge to work creating 4 seasonal colors, perennial beds and more.
