Kenya Thomas focuses on providing under-served communities access to education and programming within food science and human. Prior to Extension, she provided education in proper dietary guidelines and nutritional treatment as a clinical renal dietetic technician. Thomas earned both her Master of Science degree in Nutritional Sciences, and her Bachelor of Science degree in Food Science and Human Nutrition from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. She is currently a 1st year medical student at the University of Illinois at Chicago - College of Medicine and is integrating her clinical knowledge and training in the implementation of new programming in health science. Her ultimate goal is to bring about a thrust in health education to irradicate health disparities in under-served communities.
