Jennifer McCaffrey's area of expertise is providing innovative nutrition education programs for limited income families and youth. She also specializes in nutrition and wellness, especially programs that foster a healthy lifestyle and nutrition environment addressing issues related to obesity. She believes that nutrition can be the key to preventing certain diseases, and it can have a major impact on a healthy lifestyle.
For more than seven years, she has provided leadership for the Expanded Food and Nutrition Education Program (EFNEP) in Chicago. The Expanded Food and Nutrition Education Program staff assists families in acquiring the knowledge and skills to improve their diets and food handling practices, as well as to manage their food related resources.
McCaffrey is a registered dietitian and earned her bachelor's degree in dietetics from the University of Wisconsin–Madison and her master's degree in public health in nutrition from the University of Minnesota.
