Biological Science

Biology is the study of living things. It affects everything in our daily lives from our health to our environment to our pets! An understanding of biology can not only lead to improved health and environments, but can also impact our schools, courts, and medical system.

University of Illinois Extension provides many educational programs for children and adults to help better understand biology and its importance in our lives. It also has programs to help stimulate interest in biology and biomedical careers. These programs will include classroom presentations, interactive discussions, science laboratories, community talks, field trips and career presentations. Topics covered may include:

  • Genes and inheritance
  • Biological classifications
  • Parts of a cell
  • How the brain works
  • Biomedical careers
  • Training/internship information
