June 2006
Upcoming Events and Classes

Speakers' Bureau Training

Speakers' Bureau Training will be held on June 9 and 16, 2006 at the Mt. Prospect office location (1699 Wall Street, Suite 500, Mt. Prospect, IL 60056).

The first training session (June 9th) will focus on "Developing an Effective Presentation" and the second session on June 16th will focus on "PowerPoint Basics".

These training sessions are increasingly important since the number of Master Gardeners interested in participating in the Speakers' Bureau program is expanding. Together with other Master Gardeners, the Speakers' Bureau members are an important Extension resource for expanded outreach into the community by disseminating up-to-date, research-based horticulture information to the public through presentations.

If you are a Speakers' Bureau member or are planning to join the group, this workshop is for you. To register, please call Theresa Jones at 847-818-2901.

There are no Telenets scheduled for the month of June. The next scheduled Telenet, Tree & Shrub Insect Pests, given by Jim Schuster will be on Wednesday, July 18th at 1:00 pm and again on Thursday, July 20th at 7:00 pm.

This information will appear again on your July calendar.
