Junoir Chef Cooking School

University of Illinois Extension Family Nutrition Program sponsors the Junior Chef School at Cook County/North Suburban Unit. During this summer camp children age 8 - 12 learn about food safety, food budgeting, basic nutrition, healthy moves and healthy cooking.

This program provides youth with information and tools needed to develop a sense of self-sufficiency, knowledge of food sources and healthy food options. Children who attend this camp leave with a sense of independence and confidence in choosing healthyfoods and snacks. Students earned a certificate upon completion of the program.
