Camp Maywood

University of Illinois Extension in collaboration with Stop Asthma of Maywood and the American Lung Association brought about Fighting Asthma Through Education (F.A.T.E.) under Camp Maywood.

Camp Maywood summer program teaches children with asthma how to prepare healthy snacks and lunches. During the camp, kids are taught to properly wash their hands to minimize the spreading of germs. In addition, they learn how to prepare nutritious and delicious meals. As a result of the camp, children ages 7 through 12 gain knowledge to improve the quality of their life through education, health and nutrition.
