Ages 17 - 24: City Year, a proud member of Americorps

About City Year http://www.cityyear.org/getinvolved/joincorps/

An "action tank" for national service, City Year seeks to demonstrate, improve and promote the concept of national service as a means for building a stronger democracy. An action tank is both a program and a think tank - constantly combining theory and practice to advance new policy ideas, make programmatic breakthroughs, and bring about major changes in society.

City Year's vision is that one day, the most commonly asked question of a young person will be, "Where are you going to do your service year?"

Next U.S. application deadline:
April 15, 2007

Take a year to change lives.
Take a year to change your life.

Is this your year?

City Year is a proud member of AmeriCorps and was, in fact, a model for AmeriCorps. City Year works to build stronger communities, a stronger country, and a better world through service. Every small task at City Year is part of this ambitious mission.

City Year brings together young adults from diverse backgrounds for a demanding year of full-time community service, leadership development, and civic engagement. United in their desire to serve, these young leaders invest their talents and energy to solve critical problems in their communities, engage volunteers, and make a positive difference in the lives of others.

As a City Year corps member, you will immerse yourself in a year of service at one of 17 site locations across the United States. You will learn and you will lead. You will be challenged and inspired. You will make a difference.
