Beef Marinade

Basic Marinade for Beef Makes about 2 2/3 cups

Garlic powder

Pepper

1/3 cup salad oil

1 cup water or tomato juice

1 cup vinegar

2 tablespoons lemon juice

1/4 cup soy sauce

1 bay leaf

1. Sprinkle meat with garlic powder and pepper.

2. Prick meat with fork to help tenderize. Least tender cuts of meat – round, chuck, brisket and flank

3. Mix vinegar, soy sauce, salad oil, tomato juice, lemon juice and bay leaf in a bowl.

4. Place meat in a nonmetal container, cover with marinade and cover with lid. Refrigerate 6-8 hours or overnight.

5. When ready to cook the beef, pour off marinade. Do not reuse marinade.
