Invitation to Wild Flower Preservation Society Meeting
Wildflowers are only one part of the native plant universe and our native ashes are in peril. The emerald ash borer is no secret these days and Pam Holy of Wisconsin's Chiwaukee Prairie will speak to the Wild Flower Preservation Society, this Thursday, April 4, 1:15 p.m. on dealing with the pest threatening our native ashes and how it affects the entire native landscape.
Ash trees come in several varieties -- blue, green, white -- and Pam will discuss methods and means of dealing with the menace. A visual presentation and lots of supporting material will be available.
Lincoln Park Cultural Center, 2045 N. Lincoln Park West, 1:15 p.m.
Optional Dutch-treat lunch at the Original Pancake House, 2020 North. Lincoln Park West, 11:30 p.m. Guests are welcome and there is no charge.
