Wasps to be Introduced for EAB Control

The United States Department of Agriculture has proposed the release of three parasitic wasps into the United States this summer as a biological control for the Emerald Ash Borer.

The release of the wasps are expected to reduce the population of EAB in infested areas and slow the spread rate in the United States. This alternative would reduce but not eradicate EAB in the United States.

Monitoring would include impacts on the EAB and the spread and establishment of each wasp.
