University of Illinois Extension, Academy of Lifetime Learning (EIU) and the Coles County Council on Aging recently held an intergenerational workshop at the Lifespan Center. Grandmas and their grandchildren spent the afternoon learning to make yeast breads. Bev Combs, Nutrition and Wellness Extension Educator led the group through mixing, kneading and shaping the dough. Each group baked and sampled their own loaf of bubble loaf that afternoon. And, they went home with a bowl of dough ready for raising, shaping and baking on their own.
