Agriculture Sustainability and Natural Resources Management

Making Informed Decisions

· Landowner's Legal Rights and Responsibilities Seminar and hunting laws.

· Private Pesticide Applicator Training and Testing. 57 people participated in the this year. 100% of those attending successfully passed their certification exams this year.

· A quarterly Agriculture Newsletter is sent to approximately 500 local agricultural producers and businesses. A variety of ag-related articles and information on upcoming programs are highlighted.

· Resources for Ag Marketing, Record Keeping and Farmland Renting and Leasing.

· Diagnostic Testing to identify insect and plant diseases affecting farmers' fields, local gardens, and individual lawns.

· Clay County provides the Master Gardener Program, a horticulture education and training program that covers all aspects of plant growth and care. After successfully completing the course, graduates volunteer their knowledge, time, and talents to assist area residents with horticulture questions.
