Volunteer Opportunities

4-H Cloverbud Organizational Leader

Success Criteria: That group goals are met. Members & leaders are informed of group & unit activities. The group activities provide theyouth with an eclectic, cooperative and fun approach to learning.

Responsibilities: To see that the group is organized by arranging for the group to:

  • Set annual goals
  • Meet regularly
  • Recruit new members & recognize graduating members.
  • Apply for group recognition.
  • Conduct enrollment.
  • Plan the yearly program & activities.
  • Conduct group activities & events that are fun & cooperative through an immediate, positive feedback resonse to the youth's involvement in the activity.
  • Participate in community & unit events & programs.
  • Work with parents & activity leaders.
  • Learn about the developmental needs of 5-7 year olds & apply that information to the choice & delivery of activities.
  • To provide a system for support of youth & adult volunteer leaders including:
  • Sharing the responsibilities among group families
  • Interviewing & completing volunteer screening procedures for all volunteers in the group who will have contact with youth.
  • Processing volunteer enrollments

Time required: 1 1/2 - 2 hour activity meetings, at least six times per year or monthly.

Target Dages: September through August

Training Opportunites: Unit, Regional, State & North Central Regional trainings.

All volunteers working with youth are screened prior to undertaking assignments.
