Christian County Unit Council Minutes
May 26, 2009
Members Present: Kandy Andruch, Rebecca Arkebauer, Ivaloue Ashbrook, Diana Cloyd, Douglas Garwood, Marvin Hughes, Eric Kahle, Ed Rees, Elaine Vangeison and Chad Waterman.
Members Absent: Jim Adcock, Andria Bas, Dale Baumgartner, Gale Bell, Ann Bruenderman, Mark Dozier, Bobbie Harker, Malcolm Head, David Hixenbaugh, Amy Mann, Carla Mickey,
Call to order: the meeting was called to order 5/26/2009 at 7:30 pm.
Secretary's report: the minutes of March 24, 2009 were approved as mailed.
Treasurer's report: the financial Reports for the March and April 2009 in and out Account, the Trust Account reports for FY09 February and March and 4-H Foundation for March and April were approved as distributed. The selling of plat books as a Foundation fund raiser was discussed.
Continuing Business: County Board report given to Linda Smith from Dale Baumgartner's report from 4/27/09 was read and Douglas Garwood shared his report from 5/09.
There was a long discussion regarding the new required 4-H membership fees. It was decided that Kandy Andruch and Eric Kahle would develop a form letter to make members aware of support given on trial basis for this upcoming yea. A motion to proceed was approved unanimously.
Gary and Linda provided and update on the Dudley Smith Farm. Note; National Resource Management Program taking place June 20, 2009 must register by June 24th.
►It was noted that the 4-H newsletter needs to go to Douglas Garwood, Ed Rees and Ivaloue Ashbrook.

Linda Smith shared copy of the latest Extension in Action issue.
Ivaloue Ashbrook, Mark Dozier and Douglas Garwood and Diana Cloyd agreed to be reappointed to Nominating Committee. New council members approved; Steve Craggs, Raedena Ryan, Diane Sample and Craig Deere. Officers are Chairman: Marvin Hughes, Vice-Chairman: Rebecca Arkebauer, Secretary: Kandy Andruch, Treasurer: Douglas Garwood. Selection of the Extension Board: Kandy Andruch, Rebecca Arkebauer, Douglas Garwood and Marvin Hughes.
Annual Fiscal Assignments: All approved signatory authorization and access to local charge accounts to Linda Smith, Gary Letterly, Nancy Briggs, Ann Lupton and Jodi Heberling. Douglas Garwood, Ivaloue Ashbrook and Rebecca Arkebauer agreed to audit the 4-H Federation In and Out Account in August.
Program Updates:
Nancy Briggs implemented a Walk Day/Health Fair at all Taylorville schools with the help of Taylorville Memorial Hospital staff.
Ag and Natural Resources updated by Gary Letterly via program highlights handout.
Jodi Heberling discussed 4-H and Youth Development, next master food preservers course June 23, 30 and July 5th.
Linda Smith discussed updated bread baking workshop and pie and pastry workshop.
Ag Literacy update was provided by Ann Lupton. September 18th will be the date of the Progressive Ag Safety Day, Ann would like some help with this. Please contact her, if available. Ann will attend National Conference in June. Interactive day at Christian County fair is July 8-12.
