The University of Illinois Extension Family Nutrition Program is annoucing new programs for the community this fall!
Family Nutritional Program and SmileHealthy
Family Nutrition Program (FNP) and SmileHealthy is a partnership of two organizations to educate the community about the connection of dental health and nutrition.
The goal of this program is to reach underserved sectors of our community. These programs are designed to create awareness of the importance of dental and nutritional care. By utilizing various settings Extension and SmileHealthy are encouraging audiences to taste nutritional food samples, as well as receive tooth brushes, dental hygiene products, and literature. We are available to present our program to school classrooms, after-school programs, food pantries, special events, pre-natal programs, and health fairs.
Salsa Class and Food Balance
This program offers the community the opportunity to learn basic steps of Salsa dance and nutritional snacks. The class meets once a week for an hour and half. (Will be announced soon! Watch for registration information on our Home Page.) During the break participants have the chance to learn about nutritional facts and taste the recipe of the week.

Champaign County 4-H is uniquely positioned to deliver innovative science and technology programs because of our proximity to the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign campus. In the last year, programs have been delivered on Global Positioning Systems (GPS), GIS, and podcasting. These unique programs provide youth unique opportunities to explore the latest in new and emerging technologies.
Health & Wellness
A core belief of 4-H is Health, as evidenced by the four H's in the 4-H clover: Head, Heart, Hands, and Health. Champaign County 4-H is committed to the physical, mental and emotional health of our county's youth. With the addition of a Health and Wellness Coordinator to our team we are positioned to offer engaging programs to help our young people develop healthy lifestyles.
