Notes from Marilyn

November and December are always busy with special gatherings of family and friends.

Remember the perfect holiday is one where you feel loved and share your love with others. Learn to appreciate even the small moments as they happen.

A joyful holiday is seldom defined by what you do during the holidays, but by how much the activities were enjoyed. Decide what makes the holidays special to you.

Foundation Provides Funds

The Champaign County Extension Education is a not-for-profit corporation established in 1983 to promote the educational objectives of University of Illinois Extension Champaign County. The Foundation provides funds to help Champaign County residents participate in Extension programs and receive educational scholarships.

During the past four years, the Foundation has provided for more than 260 youth to participate in a variety of educational programs, thirty-one adults have been awarded assistance with registration fees, and thirteen individuals were recipients of educational college scholarships.

The Champaign County Extension Education Foundation believes education enriches not only the individual's quality of life, but also enhances the quality of life within our communities. This past year three new memorial scholarships were established: Dennye Ehrnwald Memorial Scholarship, Rebecca McIntyre Memorial Scholarship and the Brad McIntyre Memorial Scholarship.

We hope you enjoy this sampling of thank you notes to the Champaign County Extension Education Foundation from 4-Hers:

Dear Friends of 4-H,

Thank you so much for your support of the 4-H program. It is people like you that make 4-H possible. 4-H opens so many doors to wonderful opportunities and I want to thank you for how you've helped to make that happen in my life. Thank you again,

Sarah

Dear Friends of 4-H,

Thank you for supporting 4-H. I enjoy the projects and booklets and the 4-H Expo. 4-H has taught me how to do public speaking and serve the community. You made this happen.

Thanks again,

Sarah

Dear Friends of 4-H,

Thank you so much for the big, green bucket! My two pygmy goats (Obie and Sugarplum) REALLY like it. Obie won the bucket at the county fair goat show. I really enjoy the goat show. It was my first show, and I won the bucket!

Thanks again,

Amanda

Dear Friends of 4-H,

Thank you so much for supporting 4-H. I spent months training my dog for our county dog show. It was a great thrill for me to be awarded not only Reserve Champion for my efforts, but also to be selected for the State Fair. None of this would have been possible without your dedicated support.

Thank you,

Leigh Ann
