Agriculture & Natural Resources

Agriculture is one of the largest industries in Champaign County. Approximately 1,400 producers raise crops and livestock on more that 571,000 acres of highly productive land. These producers bring in about $200 million in production revenues.

With the assistance of volunteers who have an interest in agriculture, the Champaign County Extension unit staff delivers educational programs to meet the needs of producers as well as business professionals. Some of these programs have included
