Building money management skills

Managing money is a skill all young people and adults need. Extension works to help individuals minimize money management mistakes and build a stable financial future.

Over 1,400 high school Champaign County youth participated in Welcome to the Real World, a real-life simulation where students experience monthly expenses and the reality of unexpected bills.

Money 2000 participants are learning how to save or reduce debt by $2,000 before the year 2000.

Financial planning professionals were taught All My Money to help their limited resource clients improve their money skills.

121 participants have received help in keeping financial records and budget plans. As a result of their money management plans, 33 have established savings accounts.

3,100 individuals have attended workshops learning budgeting and financial record-keeping.
