4-H Cloverbuds is a unique new program that helps build confident kids. This age-appropriate curriculum is specifically designed for kindergarten, first and second grade classrooms. 4-H Cloverbuds uses hands-on learning activities to help children explore art, plants and animals, science and the environment. Youngsters also engage in group activities that promote personal development, healthy lifestyles, and a sense of citizenship. The learning activities are based on sound child development principles, fostering basic values like cooperation, teamwork and communication.
In 4-H Cloverbuds, children will:
- Develop self understanding and confidence
- Achieve success in learning and feel a positive sense of accomplishment
- Learn to get along with others and communicate in a positive way
- Make new friends
- Learn how to share, work together, compromise, and resolve conflict
The 4-H Cloverbud Curriculum is available from the University of Illinois Extension Office. There are two levels of the curriculum – I and II. Level II is also available in Spanish. Cost is $15 plus shipping and handling and has enough activities to last a whole school year. Both levels have Cloverbud kits available ON LOAN BASIS ONLY. The kits contain non-consumable supplies and age-appropriate books related to the topics in the eight curriculum sections. Teacher training is also available as needed.
