Important Dates to Remember!

August 8: Illinois 4-H Club/Group Report

This report is due to the County Office. Please make the time to complete this application for a state-wide award! The paper copy was sent to the organizational leaders a couple of weeks ago.

August 27: Summer Shows Results

Plan to stop by the county office to pick up your club's copy of judging results for each of the Summer Shows. Please use this occasion to review with each member the grade that he/she received for each exhibit opportunity. The results from this review will be used as a basis to issue premium checks. The audited copy of the judging results will need to be turned in with records on August 27. No corrections to members' premium checks will be made following this review opportunity.

August 27: Record Book Turn In, 7 – 10 a.m. and 5 - 7:30 p.m.

Individual record books, Secretary Books, Treasury Books and/or Treasury Affidavits, as well as all the member award applications are due August 27 at the county office. Please refer to the Record Book Completion Bulletin, which was mailed to each organizational leader a couple of weeks ago. All the information required to have a successful record turn in is in this packet. Please call TODAY if there are questions!

August 27: Extra project books?

Please recycle them by bringing them along with your club's records!

August 29: Last day for members to receive the early bird discount for the Southern Illinois Leadership Convention in Carbondale.

Last fall two Champaign County 4-H members attended this Columbus Day Convention and had a great time, met new friends, and "learned lots." "Polishing the Diamond of Leadership" is the theme for this year's convention. Click here for more information.

September 2: Last day to register for the Companion Animal Workshop Series

September 3: Record Book Grading

Each Champaign County 4-H Club is urged to provide at least two volunteers to help grade records and awards on Wednesday, September 3 beginning at 6 p.m. in the Auditorium. "Many hands make he job easier" as the adage suggests. Contact Kathy with the names of your volunteers.

September 26 and 27: Field Trip!

Visit the Illinois Natural History Survey 150th Anniversary Celebration from noon to 6 p.m. on the grounds of the Natural History Survey at 1816 South Oak Street, Champaign. Click here for more details.

October 2: 4-H Leader's Kickoff Meeting at 6:45 p.m. in the Auditorium.

At least one leader from each Champaign County 4-H Club is expected to be in attendance. Items to be addresssed are:

  • New 4-H year
  • New 4-H projects
  • Policies and procedures

October 5 – 11: National 4-H Week!
