Is your project ready for state fair?
The Illinois State Fair will be here before we know it. Now is the time to let Judy know what projects you'll be taking to the fair by Friday, July 28. Please dropyour projects off at either office by the end of the day on Wednesday, Aug. 2. The state fair exhibit report that you need to fill out can be found on our Web site at http://web.extension.uiuc.edu/calhounjersey/4hyouth806.html
We'll take your projects up and bring them back with your ribbons.

Let the games begin
There won't be any opening ceremonies, unless you count the Master Showmanhip Contest, but 4-H Olympics is sure to feature some spirited competition between the 4-H clubs in Jersey County. The competition will begin at 7:30 p.m. Sunday, July 9, or 15 minutes after Master Showmanship. Events include a scavenger hunt, butter stick toss, tug of war and water relay. Instead of medals, prizes will be themed containers including scrapbooking, arts and crafts, games and picnic.

What time is it? Parade time, of course
Are you ready to march in the Jersey County Fair Parade, Tuesday, July 11? All 4-H members who want to participate are encouraged to meet at 5 p.m. on N. Liberty St. (west of 16) by Tracy Rothe's truck. Our parade number is 43 so that's where we'll be lined up. 4-H members should wear their club shirts or white or green shirts. Judy and I will bring the decorations so be prepared to be creative.
See you there!!!
