Extension Advisory Committees

Extension Advisory Council Volunteers
The council is responsible for assisting staff with the planning and coordinating of University of Illinois Extension programs.

Extension Advisory Council Sub-committees:

  • Extension Support Team - This committee helps to promote and support the development of the Extension Support Team Fund and makes recommendations regarding investments to the Unit Council.
  • Marketing - This committee assists in the overall public image and strategic plan(s) of action for future development of the Bureau County Extension Service.
  • Finance - This committee reviews the annual operating budget and makes recommendations forbudget proposals to annual funders. This committee alsoassists in the implementation of fund raising activities.
  • Agriculture - This committee assists in identifying pertinent agricultural issues in Bureau County and develops program recommendations to address these issues.
  • Youth - This committee assists in identifying issues pertaining to Bureau County youth and the organizing and implementation of Youth Programs to address said issues.
  • Program - This committee assists in identifying issues/needs of Bureau County residents, andrecommends programs to address issues/meet needs including planning, implementation and evaluation of said programs.
  • Fair Review - This committee annually reviews the Bureau County 4-H Fair schedule, activities, judges/superintendents, project areas, fair book, and other fair related issues in order to make recommendations to enhance the overall fair operation for the coming year.
  • 4-H Fair Organization & Development - This committee assists in the planning, organization, and implementation of the Bureau County 4-H Fair and related activities.
  • 4-H Expansion & Review - This purpose of this committee is tohelp to expand the opportunities to all youth and volunteers in Bureau County. Goals are developed and programs are assessed to identify and target geographic areas or segments of the youth population which are underrepresented.

Additional Volunteer Opportunities

All volunteers working with youth are screened prior to undertaking assignments.
