Lights On Afterschool
The Afterschool Alliance has announced that Lights On Afterschool will be Thursday, October 18th this year! It is the only nationwide event celebrating afterschool programs. Last year's event included more than 7,500 rallies. Help us grow this event and send the message that afterschool programs keep kids safe, inspire them to learn, and help working families! Go to www.afterschoolalliance.org/lights_on/index.cfm for tools and information, and check back often for updates.Posted by Jill Guynn at 9:49 AM | Permalink |

Come to the Donkey Basketball Game!
The Malden After-School Program is sponsoring a Donkey Basketball game fundraiser on Saturday, March 31, 2007 in the Malden Grade School gym. The event starts at 7:00 p.m. Real live donkeys, specially selected for donkey basketball, will be used for this fantastic show. There will be three teams: the community, the after-school program and the school. Each team will have eight or more individuals to participate in the games. Tickets are $5.00 in advance and $7.00 at the door. Preschool is FREE and there will be FREE donkey rides for children 12 and under.
There will also be a 50/50, gardening basket door prize, baked goods and a concession stand.
Funds raised at this event will be matched by Bureau County IL Thrivent Chapter, and will be used to support the Malden After-School Program. If you would like to purchase tickets or have any questions please call Malden Grade School at 643-2436. If after 2:00 p.m. please ask for Stephanie.
Thanks and hope to see you there! I am riding!
