University of Illinois Extension – Bureau County is known for the many educational programs and services provided to youth, families, schools, not-for-profit agencies, businesses, agricultural groups and farmers, day care providers and more. Broad program areas include Family and Consumer Sciences, Community and Economic Development, Nutrition and Wellness, Agriculture and Natural Resources, and Youth Development. Youth benefit from the largest youth program in the world located right here in Bureau County...the 4-H Program for children/teens, ages 5 –19. School enrichment programs, summer camp programs and youth leadership opportunities are just a few of the ongoing, self-esteem, skill, and knowledge-building offerings of the local Extension Service provided to youth.

Besides delivering a variety of educational programs and services for youth, families and communities in Bureau County, the University of Illinois Extension helps to create strategic plans and partner with other not-for-profit agencies and community leaders.
