Thought for the Month
Being a friend to someone is the best gift you can give them. Never underestimate the power of your actions. With small gestures you can change a person's life.
The office has several items that have been dropped off, one girls (lg) Old Navy pink (front zip) sweatshirt, one girls magenta fleece size M(10/12) with sequine butterfly on front, a small black purse with strap (young girls items inside) and a pair of black gloves. If these items are not claimed by Nov. 20th they will be given to the Salvation Army.
One 5 month old guinea pig, cage and food. This would make a great small pet project for 4-H. If you are interested call Penny Fowler at 815-544-5988 and leave a message.
Reporters: Please have your reports to the Extension Office by the 20th of each month. Please e-mail your reports to akrass@illinois.edu
Editor's Note: Club reports and letters submitted are not edited for spelling, punctuation, or grammar. They are simply typed as submitted.

We discussed 4-H promotion and fundraising ideas. We formed two separate committees and they met after the meeting to discuss their ideas and will report back to us in November. Then we were given our enrollment forms and were told to have them back to our leaders by November and that the $20 it cost to be in 4-H this year is due to Cassie and Greg by December 27th. Then we voted to do Hometown Christmas which is a tree and the parade and we are going to do Fall Food Shower and Troop Mail all of this was motioned by Lexie Shattuck and Calli seconding. We will have a committee meeting before the next meeting at the Leins house. All of us signed up to announce award recipients at Recognition Night on October 25th and we are all going to be in attendance too. We elected Vanessa Lein as our new reporter and we have great confidence in her. Then we decided to have our next meeting at The Leins house at 6:30pm. We adjourned the meeting with Stephen motioning and Brad seconding.

What Does a Deadline Mean?
Please be sure to read your newsletter and respond to the deadlines that apply. We plan many workshops and count on deadlines to help assist in the planning for events. There may not be enough supplies or places for you to sit if you do not respond to the deadline and it makes extra work for office staff if deadlines are not taken seriously.
Be sure to sign up for all workshops and clinics before or by the deadline. Sometimes workshops are canceled due to the lack of interest. We are only able to notify those who have registered of the cancellation. We would hate for you to travel all the way here to find out it has been canceled.
Be sure to turn in all information that is requested by the deadline. If your leader must turn in forms to the Extension Office, such as enrollment forms, by a certain date, please make sure your leader has them before that date. Deadlines are set for a reason and will be adhered to this year.
