The Boone County Extension office provides practical, research-based information and programs to help individuals, families, farms, businesses and communities in Illinois. It is the home of the county's 4-H Program for youth as well as being the home of the Boone County Master Gardeners. Its mission, in short, is to help the citizens of Illinois, and specifically the citizens of Boone County put knowledge to work.

Now taking applications for the Master Gardener program.

If you are interested in volunteering a portion of your time for gardening and horticulture type activities that benefit your community, join the Master Gardener Program. Training is provided, starting in January 2010.

This is a great outlet for education and socializing with fellow Master Gardeners.
