Lynn Weis provides leadership in developing, marketing and evaluating programs for the Bond County Unit of University of Illinois Extension. As a County Director, she markets the Extension programs, networks with other community resources, and is responsible for fiscal and facility management.
She received her degree in agricultural education from Southern Illinois University, Carbondale.
Weis has worked with the Illinois Cooperative Extension Service since 1988. She began her Extension career in Madison County as an agriculture advisor. She moved to Bond County in 1992 as unit leader.
She has worked extensively with local government entities, agencies and private businesses to provide community joint programming on health issues, development of a multi-county rural water system, and agriculture research projects with local producers.
Weis' professional affiliation includes Illinois Extension Agricultural Association and is currently the secretary of the association. She currently serves on the Bond County Senior Center Board of Directors, Bond County Fairboard and a member of the Bond County Noxious Weed Committee. In Madison County, she volunteers as a 4-H leader, serves on the fair board and is a director for the Madison County Soil and Water Conservation District.
