Get Connected

Is everything around you changing? Your appearance, the way you feel, the things you like and don't like? Lots of girls your age feel the very same way. To help you survive all the changes within and around you, the Mt. Sterling Community Center YMCA, the University of Illinois Extension 4-H Program and the Girl Scouts of Central Illinois is offering Get Connected. This is a program for girls in 5th to 8th grade that runs during the school year, with activities that focus on being strong in spirit, mind, body, and promote self-esteem, confidence and wellness. Discover new talents, learn new skills, make new friends, and explore new opportunities. Topics and activities include Uniquely Me, horseback riding, art projects and much, much more. Meeting once a month, the girls will experience new activities, meet new friends and learn about themselves. Registration is $25 for a member of any of the participating organizations or $30 for any non-member. The deadline to register is September 30, with the first activities taking place October 30.
