Locally Grown Tomato Contest

Saturday, August 2nd in Washington Park in Quincy.

There are four ways to enter and win! Sweetest, Heaviest or Best Dressed tomato and Best Salsa. Entries will be accepted from 8 am to 11 am and winners announced at 1:00 pm. Any age can enter but the tomato must be grown by the participant for the Sweetest and Heaviest categories. In the Best Dressed category you can use a tomato grown by someone else as long as it is a locally grown tomato. This category is for the creative types who can make a great looking tomato look even better!

A new category this year will be a homemade salsa contest. We prefer you register your salsa entry prior to the contest by contacting the U of I Extension office at 217-223-8380 by July 31, 2008.

There will be prizes for the top 3 entries in all categories! For more information, contact the Adams/Brown Extension office at 217-223-8380. Sponsored by Adams/Brown Master Gardeners.
