Staff from the Adams-Brown Unit provide basic nutrition, food budgeting and food safety education to the food-stamp eligible population. The program works collaboratively with area health departments, social service agencies, emergency shelters, food pantries, schools, housing authorities, senior centers, day cares, after-school programs and summer food service programs.
Staff provide education on a variety of topics. The topics include, but are not limited to

- fun and healthy snacks
- serving sizes
- MyPyramid
- 5-A-Day
- eating healthy on a budget
- general food safety
- healthy cooking tips
- physical activity
- the importance of breakfast
