Statement of Purpose: The Health and Social Services Action Team is committed to assuring access to and developing health and social services for Brown County residents.

Goals Accomplished:

• With assistance from the Brown County Democrat Message, a published Brown County Wellness Directory
• Public Transportation for anyone who needs it WCMTD
• "Citizens Against Underage Drinking" committee formed (CAUD)
• Health Screenings for various purposes held on an on-going basis
• Highlighted RSVP works in Brown County
• Hold annual Back to School Fair for students (immunizations, supplies, etc)
• Help with needs for EMS/Ambulance Service
• Held Mental Health/Depression seminar

Projects in the Works:

• Brown County Against Cancer is a new non-profit organization for Brown County that will raise money to provide financial support for Brown County residents who are battling cancer. Working on fundraising activities and events for 2010. Donations can be made to Brown County Against Cancer and mailed to U of I Extension at 111 W. Washington Mt. Sterling, IL 62353 or deposited at the Brown County State Bank. Financial requests can also be requested to Extension office, Paula Hannant or Cathleen Koch.
