Gordon Bidner has provided tireless energy as a 4-H advocate over several decades and is one of two past Illinois 4-H Foundation Board members to ever be recognized as a Board Member Emeritus. He and his wife, Sandra (Rayburn) Bidner, were both 4-H members and first met while they were counselors together in the Summer of 1957 at 4-H Memorial Camp at Allerton Park. All three of Gordon & Sandi’s sons were 4-H members for at least 10 years and each were selected as a National 4-H Congress delegate. Gordon spent 6 years of his professional career as a vocational agriculture teacher and 34 years in the agricultural seed industry. He has owned an operated Prairie Crest Farms in McLean County since 1973. Gordon’s passions for youth, education, and agriculture are evident in the many volunteer leadership roles he has played in McLean County and in the state of Illinois.
