Making a 4-H Forever Endowment
Forever 4-H Endowed Gifts create everlasting support for 4-H.
Endowments are managed by the University of Illinois Foundation by investing the principal so there is an annual amount of income (interest) available to use each year to benefit the specific 4-H program that the endowment was established to support. Endowments are invested for long-term growth so that -- over time -- both the market value of the endowment and the annual amount of income available for the program will gradually increase.
Planned gifts can include cash, securities, real estate, or estate gifts. Life income gifts, like Charitable Remainder Trusts or Charitable Gift annuities, can provide an opportunity to set up a gift that will provide the donor with annual income for each year during their life or during the life of their named beneficiary.
Planning an estate gift can be as simple as using the following language on IRA, insurance policy, or other beneficiary designation forms; or providing this language to your attorney for inclusion in your will or living trust:
If you would like to designate your estate gift for a specific 4-H program or purpose, please contact the Illinois 4-H Foundation staff to develop a fund agreement that will detail your wishes to be carried out so that your gift supports the specific 4-H program(s) you choose. Establishing a named endowment insures a way to provide support to 4-H that truly lasts forever.
