Maywood Health Initiative: People for a Healthier Maywood

The Maywood Health Initiative (MHI) is a collaborative effort between University of Illinois Extension, Cook County Department of Public Health and Loyola University Medical Center.

The overall goal of the MHI is to form a partnership with organizations and community residents who are committed to identifying gaps in services. We work to identify community assets and investigate the type of health programming community agencies and residents want to see delivered or expanded in Maywood. The ultimate purpose is to promote healthy choices among Maywood residents.

The Maywood Health Initiative meets at the Maywood Public Library on the 4th Wednesday of every month from 1:30-3:30PM.

Currently, two subcommittees have formed. The two subcommittees are working to address sexually transmitted diseases and chronic diseases in the Village of Maywood.

Please contact Tammi Reynolds at 708-449-4320 for more information.
